Daily Papervision3D: Can you tells a little bit about yourself and your role on the team?
Marcus Oliveira: My name is Marcus 28 years old, B.S. in Computer Science and I’m a Flash Developer, actually working at Medical Science University as a web designer and make some cool freelance projects.
Daily: What was the deciding factor to choose Papervision3D?
Marcus: Definitely because the support, the osflash papervision3D mailing list and the many tutorials on the web help me a lot to does Real 3D stuff on Flash.
Daily: What were the main obstacles you found when you first started?
Marcus: Understand how to interact with materials and movie clips inside primitive 3D objects such as plane or cube.
Daily: How did Papervision3D influence your normal workflow?
Marcus: Change the way of the concept and creation, now we can go much more far away from the limits of 2D world.
Daily: What did you love the most about Papervision3D?
Marcus: Witch a few lines of code we can do awesome things, ease to learn and very intuitive process of programming.
Daily: How steep was the learning curve?
Marcus: The best thing about papervision3d is the easy and quickly way to learn and understand how it works with a few steeps.
Daily: Will you be using PV3D again in your projects? Why?
Marcus: Yes, with papervision3D we can do projects faster than using other engines, the examples, tutorials, wiki and blog helps to get started.
Daily: Did you have any influence in the decision to use PV3D, and how did your manager react?
Marcus: The great showcase and examples at papervision3d blog.
Daily: What tips would give to other first timers?
Marcus: Start to play with a plane, change camera angles, zoom, change material, interact with him and go to next steps with more complex projects.
Daily: If you could ask for any feature to be built into the engine what would it be?
Marcus: Optimization of the z-sorting, compatibility with other 3d file types, more efficient and easy way to use effects and an pv3d editor with integration of action script and all classes of pv3d library (and documentation too).
