From the folks over at bestiario comes a new project “Bioexplora” here is what Jose had to say about the new project

The Natural Science Museum of Barcelona Data Base contains 50.000 records so far collected along one century. Most of the register are mollusc, vertebrata and artropodes. They belong to places all over the world. The Data Base will be updated until reaching the total amount of collections registered (around a million).

The information is structured following the Darwin Core Standard, developed by the Global Biodiversity Information Facility GBIF (for whom museum is one of the information providers).

Bestiario developed this interactive space that allows access to the records collections in the Museum Data Base.

The interactive options are

-drag and zoom the map to selected geographical location and scale
-select/deselect geographical layers in order to have different views
-click on an active (containing registers) square to download all the registers located in the selected area.
-a zoom-in framing the selected square will display more detailed locations (with a depicted precision radius) of the registers. Zoom into selected square is activated by clicking arrows in corners.

From John over at Webber Design is a re-launched version of Titty Bingo, a site that we featured last year.  Here is what John had to say about the re-launch

The new TittyBingo.com is now a true juggernaut of a website created in Papervision3D. The new site is full of hundreds of photographic planes and 3D Models which together create a true online world. Just about everything inside the website is in someway interactive. The ‘texas asteroid’ was modeled in Swift3D 5 and exported using the Export to Papervision3d feature. All content is editable through simple content management. Each person in the “crowd” can have a YouTube video associated with it to play when clicked. The guitars are the opposite and fly out to meet the camera. Slideshowpro Director is integrated into Papervision3D and can be see on the video screen over the stage. Slideshowpro Director is also utilized in 2D space to play videos, photos and to run the “Texas Music Museum” (Give the Alamo a click). Each of Titty Bingo’s 4 albums are represented by our interactive “Song Posts”. Each song title can be clicked to play that track. There is much to see and the site can be navigated using the Arrows and Page Up/Down keys.

From our friends at Webber Design comes Camp is Cool Taking their brand of collage art to another level, here is what john from webber had to say about the new project:

” Unlike our other clients where we create a fantasy world, Camp Balcones Springs has a physical location they wanted to showcase.Camp Balcones Springs is not just another day camp and wanted a new website to reflect that fact. Our first instinct was to travel to the Camp and photograph as much of it as we could.  After a few hours we took some 800 photos of the entire facility.  The client gave us a map of the facilities which includes a river which created the back side border of the camp with a white sand beach.  We decided to turn the map upside down so our opening would come in from the beach and not from the less visually interesting highway side.

The client requested a “cartoon” feel after our first mock up, so back at the lab, we began the process of recreating the camp in 3D Flash. We stylized each image using a combination Photoshop Filters & colorizing tools.
The site ended up a perfect split between art and content. “
