From Jérémie Sellam, over at leschinois, comes a very big and awesome site for Orange’s spring collection. Its ambience reminds me of Mirrors Edge but without the redness and the camera wobbling.
They’ve combined a great design and fluidity of animation to achieve an awesome end result.

From Gerb Sterrenburg comes a followup on a previous experiment, and this time it’s even more mind-blowing as no special hardware is needed, you really have to see the video to see the awesomeness of the work that Gerb, along with StrafWerk did.
So be sure to check the video on his blog: http://www.gerbster.nl/2009/04/07/head-tracking-in-flash/
From Michael Domanski comes a really cool experiment that includes one of my favorite games EVE online here’s his say:
It’s completely un-optimized and the model used is over 4000 tris, but I’m already working on <500 tri equivalents to keep fps as high as possible.
I only hope those glow effects and hi-res skybox don’t kill me too soon![]()
PS. To achieve somewhat acceptable skybox quality I had to use doctored 6x 512×512 textures – otherwise they looked too pixelated.
Preferably I’d use some HDR rendering, but is it possible in PV3D&Flash without a tremendous hit on performance?
I’m definitely staying with low quality so texture diffusing is out of question, what do You think?

From our friends over at Webber Design comes their latest rock band site, here’s their say
We have let another Papervision site rip this week. This time for a band that broke up in 1986 in the middle of recording their debut album, Not Afraid. 20 Years later, Julian, our client and the main singer/songwriter came to us not afraid to release his music after all this time. He was completing his life long dream, the album that had sat ‘in the can’ for two decades. He was very clear that he didn’t want this to feel ‘retro’ but timeless as he felt the music was just that. Our team decided to build him the custom ‘Dancer Theater’ where the band would come back to life after all these years. All we had to work with was a hand full of Black and White photos, 10 songs, some home videos and his recently designed album artwork. With a little imagination, a lot of photoshop and Papervision3D we brought them back in full color at the big concert they never had.

From Primal Stare, a digital production studio out of New Jersey, US, comes Switching Seats – Nascar and the United States Air Force, the work was performed for GSD&M Idea City out of Austin, Texas.
Here’s their say on it:
A branded microsite that commemorates the United States Air Force partnering with Richard Petty Motorsports, Reed Sorenson, and the storied No. 43 car. Primal Stare Studios, Inc. and GSD&M Idea City partnered to produce an immersive Papervision3D panorama site experience. The site utilizes a fully dynamic CMS backend and integrates a variety of custom built web services. The site also features a fully skinned Google Maps implementation that tracks, via onboard GPS in the hauler, the No. 43 car as it travels the nation.
